Soon, police arrived at the scene and took stock of the situation even as the protesting parents demanded immediate action against the accused.
“My daughter narrated the ordeal and described that the teacher used to regularly misbehave with her. However, today his intensity crossed all limits,” stated the mother of the victim. She further alleged that the accused teacher also behaved inappropriately with several other students.
In his statement, the accused teacher, Sashikanta Rout refuted the allegations. He demanded a thorough investigation and asked authorities to review CCTV footage.
“These are all baseless lies. I was taking my science class in the sixth period and there was absolutely no misbehaviour on my part. I have stated the same to police and they will probe CCTV footage after the formation of a team. The truth will be out soon,” Rout said in his address to the media.
