‘Suspicious bag’ found at Bhubaneswar international airport; CISF, security agencies start probe

At a time when high-alert has been sounded following threat, a suspicious bag was found at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

The development created a flutter at the Bhubaneswar airport. Soon after the suspicious bag was spotted outside the airport campus, CISF personnel along with dog squad reached the spot and started an investigation.

It is not clear as to who left the bag and whether there is something suspicious in it.  A detailed investigation is currently underway and the bag is being properly checked.

However, later during verification of the bag, the security personnel clarified that the luggage belonged to a passenger and nothing suspicious was found in it.

Meanwhile, the incident had created panic for quite some time till the entire things were clarified by the security officials deployed at the Bhubaneswar airport following a detailed examination of the bag.

Earlier, US-based Khalistani extremist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun’s threat had created a flutter on Saturday. Pannun had issued a threat to disrupt the ongoing All India DGsP/IGsP Conference 2024 in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar by sending emails to several journalists in Odisha along with an audio message.
