With all eyes on the proposed woman-centric Subhadra Yojana, Odisha Deputy Pravati Parida on Tuesday stated that the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) will be released soon after seeking necessary feedback from people, intellectuals and other stakeholders.

As Subhadra yojana will be a historic step, as it will play a crucial role in women empowerment. There should not be any speculation till the release of SOP as the entire applying process will be very simple and nobody will have to go anywhere or queue up before any place, said the Deputy CM.

“This is people’s government. Hence to bring a transformation in the lives of common people and woman, the government had earlier directed to collect feedback from all stakeholders and we expect that the report will be received by Collectors by August 14. Once the feedback comes from the grassroot level, the discussion will be held on feasibility and there would be a modification in the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP),” said Parida.

According to the Deputy CM, the SOP is ready but there is a need for people’s audit. Subhadra was in the manifesto and opinion of people is important.After taking suggestions from intellectuals, SOP will be modified and released, she said.

Subhadra scheme will create a new path for women-led development. Hence, the CM has directed to take feedback from people. Only after that SOP will be made public. The process is underway in 10 clusters including in the districts of Angul, Balasore, Khordha, Koraput, Puri, Sambalpur, Bolangir, Cuttack and Ganjam, informed Parida.

Highest Beneficiaries in Subhadra Yojana

Till now whatever beneficiaries were there in other welfare schemes, the highest will be in Subhadra Yojana. People can be enrolled anytime and those who will be dropped, they can apply again. It will be a continuous scheme and process, said the Deputy CM.

“There can be multiple beneficiaries from a single household but which household will be eligible will be specified clearly in the SOP. Our focus will be on making the application process simple and hassle-free. People will not have to go anywhere. We are trying to ensure that there are no errors and other issues ahead of its rollout by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17,” Parida added.
