The Subhadra Yojana has come under scrutiny following delays and neglect in handling applications. Consequently, as many as 52 Jan Seva Kendras (public utility service centres) have been blacklisted for such lapses.
The centres were involved in charges of negligence to application-processing grievances of the general public.
Besides, complaints have been lodged against 14 centres and they have been under investigation due to the charges of receiving undue fees from the beneficiaries.
The Odisha government has now taken a decision to remove the "opt-out" option from the Subhadra portal, which was reportedly creating confusion and dispute in terms of services amongst its users.
Earlier today, the Odisha government decided to delay the fourth phase disbursement of the Subhadra Yojana 1st instalment, which was originally scheduled on December 25, due to ongoing verification and E-KYC processes.

The move aims to ensure all eligible beneficiaries are covered in this final phase of the scheme.
“Over 20L women beneficiaries will benefit from the fourth or the last phase of the first installment of the ambitious Subhadra Yojana. So, applicants who are facing problems in E-KYC process must update their biometrics. Moreover, those who have done their E-KYC through mobile OTP have to do it once again through biometrics. For that they can visit Jana Seva Kendra or Mo Seva Kendra. Currently, around 5L people are in the waiting/under process list,” Odisha Deputy CM Pravati Parida informed.
“We have also set up help desks comprising Anganwadi workers and CDPOs. They will visit every village with the help of people’s representatives and assist applicants facing problems. RIs have also been advised for field visits and resolve any land-related issues,” Parida added.
