Odisha Government has previously confirmed that the second installment of Rs 5,000 under Subhadra Yojana will be distributed on March 8, 2025 (International Women’s Day). This follows the fourth phase of the first installment disbursed on February 8, 2025, benefiting over 18 lakh women, sources said on Sunday.

The Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system ensures transparent delivery to the Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries.
Eligibility criteria and exclusions
Eligibility requires Odisha residency, age 21-60 years, family income less than or equal to Rs 2.5 Lakh, and NFSA coverage. Exclusions apply to government employees, income taxpayers, families with less than five acres irrigated and/or 10 acres non-irrigated land.
Women receiving less than or equal to Rs 1,500 per month or less than or equal to Rs 18,000 per year from other schemes are also ineligible.
Application process and documentation
Applications are submitted via Anganwadi centers and CSCs with the Aadhaar-linked bank details. Mandatory e-KYC verification through facial authentication via Subhadra Portal and Mobile App ensures security. Required documents include Aadhaar card proof of residence.
Common rejection reasons include Aadhaar-bank account mismatches or incomplete forms.
The Odisha Cabinet earlier approved the deadline for closure of registration under Subhadra Yojana for the FY 2024-25. As per the press brief of Odisha Cabinet meeting, March 31, 2025, has been approved as the suitable date for closure of registration.

The scheme targets Rs 50K financial assistance over five years (Rs 10K annually in two installments) to economically empower the women. As of December 2024, over 1 crore applications were received. Deputy CM Pravati Parida emphasised inclusion of previously rejected beneficiaries in upcoming phases.
Digital incentives and financial literacy
Beneficiaries receive Subhadra Debit Cards for withdrawals and digital transactions. Top 100 users per gram panchayat and urban area in digital transactions earn Rs 500 incentives annually. This also promotes financial inclusion while aligning with India’s digital payment ecosystem goals.
