Odisha Vigilance on Saturday arrested Kishore Kumar Sahani, Senior Assistant of City Hospital under the office of CDMO, Cuttack, on charges of possessing disproportionate assets (DA) to the tune of several crores. He was later produced before the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack.

The arrest followed extensive searches on Sahani’s properties, during which the Vigilance team unearthed assets grossly disproportionate to his known sources of income.  These include two residential buildings, 19 high-value plots, a poultry farm spread over 2.5 acres, cash of Rs 3.5 lakh, gold weighing 135 grams, and deposits worth over Rs 55 lakh, among other investments.

According to sources, a triple-storeyed house at Jobra Nuasahi in Cuttack and another building with a poultry farm at Choudwar were among the major assets detected.

Earlier on Friday, the officials of the anti-corruption agency raided five locations linked to Sahani on charges of misappropriating government funds amounting to over Rs 1.24 crore and allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Sahani, who entered government service in 1997 as a Junior Assistant under the rehabilitation scheme, has served for more than two decades in City Hospital, Cuttack, and was promoted to the post of Senior Assistant in 2016.
