Rourkela Steel Plant staff duped of Rs 3.58 lakh
Cyber criminals are spreading their tentacles fast, with cyber crimes gaining speed in Odisha. In a recent such incident, an employee of Rourkela Steel Plant in Sundargarh district has been allegedly duped of Rs 3.58 lakh by cyber fraudsters.
As per reports, the RSP staff saw an advertisement for credit card on a social media site on May 7. Subsequently, he clicked the link to know about the details. He got a phone call on the next day and was asked to provide his bank details, Aadhaar and PAN card numbers.
Subsequently, the victim provided all the details and was told that he would be informed about further development within the next 24 hours. However, the RSP employee found to his utter shock that Rs 3.58 lakh was debited from his account.

Following the development, the victim lodged an FIR at the local police station. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident.
"Based on the FIR, we have registered a case and are currently investigating the matter," said Sector-7 police station IIC RN Patra.
