Ten other places that recorded temperatures at 37 Degrees Celsius or above are Jharsuguda (38.2), Bolangir (38), Sonepur (37.7), Angul (37.7), Sambalpur (37.6), Sundargarh (37.5), Bhawanipatna (37.2), Hirakud (37.1), Boudh (37) and Baripada (37).
IMD regional centre in Bhubaneswar predicts an imminent increase in the Maximum (day) temperatures, with Bolangir, Titilagarh, and Jharsuguda already exceeding the 38-degree threshold. Western Odisha is facing temperatures considerably higher than usual for this time of the year, foreboding a daunting summer ahead.
Predictions by IMD regional centre head
“The Maximum temperature in most parts of Odisha could remain above normal during March, April, and May.
