The long-anticipated queue system for darshan (Dhadi darshan )at Jagannath Temple in Puri saw an extension until the completion of the Kartika month.

The Shri Jagannath Temple administration decided to conduct a trial darshan at the Natamandap only after Kartika, informed the Chief Administrator of the temple, Arabinda Padhee. The decision comes after a meeting of the Chhatisa Nijog and Niti Sub-Committee, chaired by the District Collector.

“Due to the rituals, we have decided to start it after the Kartika month. It will start on a trial basis after the completion of the Kartika month. Moreover, we have put a ban on the usage of mobile phones, including the staff and employees. We will come up with guidelines soon. If needed, sevayats will also be banned from using mobile phones,” informed Padhee.

Meanwhile, mobile phone usage inside the temple will be restricted, with permission granted only in designated areas. This rule also applies to temple staff and JPT officials. The temple administration will continue to review darshan arrangements and queue management every Wednesday, Padhee added.

Regarding the silver bricks, Arabinda Padhee stated that the matter is currently under court consideration. The temple plans to bring the silver bricks under temple management with government approval.

Additionally, the relocation of ornaments to Ratna Bhandar has been approved, further streamlining temple operations and security. These measures are part of ongoing efforts to ensure a smooth, organised, and safe darshan experience for devotees.
