The Holy Trinity is gradually recovering inside the Anasara Ghara as secret rituals continue. With Ekadashi approaching, the final phase of treatment using traditional herbal medicine is set to conclude, thereby preparing Chaturdha Murtis (the four presiding deities) for public appearance ahead of the Rath Yatra in Puri pilgrimage town, sources said on Friday.

According to sources, Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra, along with Lord Sudarshan, are on the path to recovery inside the Anasara Ghara, where secret healing rituals (Gupta Seva) are underway. As per tradition, the sibling deities are being treated with ancient Ayurvedic methods after the Snana Purnima bathing ritual.
Gupta Seva of the sibling deities nears completion
The deities are being administered a traditional and special medicinal paste (Oshua Lepana) prepared with aged Sal Benzoin Resin (Jhuna), Sesame Oil (Rashi Tela), and other traditional ingredients. Meanwhile, the royal physician (Rajvaidya) is in the final stage of preparing the Dashamula Modak, a potent Ayurvedic preparation for the Lord.
On the upcoming Ekadashi, the Modak will be offered to the sibling deities. This marks the symbolic recovery of the Lords and paves the way for their reappearance before devotees during the Netrotsav ritual ahead of the annual sojourn.
In preparation for Rath Yatra, the construction of wooden Bedi (decorated altar) on all three chariots has been completed. Once the painting work is finalised, the lion-faced thrones (Singhasana Muhanti) will be fixed onto the platforms.
All these steps are vital milestones in the countdown to the grand festival in Puri.
“Chariot construction work, which bears utmost importance for all of us, is going on at an expected pace. The Sevayats (servitors) are performing their respective works properly,” SJTA Chief Administrator, Arabinda Padhee, stated.
“Preparation for this year’s Ghosha Jatra is almost complete. Senior officers of the temple, as well as district administration, have been deployed for Pahandi rituals. Under the supervision of the senior officials, the festival will be concluded,” the Chief Administrator added.
