According to official sources, after conducting a detailed review in Puri, the CM issued a clear directive to ensure flawless execution of the upcoming grand rituals of this year’s Car Festival, including Bahuda Yatra, Suna Besha, and Niladri Bije. Emphasising structured coordination and strong administrative planning, the CM reassured that every effort is being made to avoid lapses.

Referring to certain shortcomings observed during the Gundicha Yatra, the CM said, “Specific steps have already been taken to address them.” The administration, he confirmed, has carefully evaluated past missteps to ensure no repetition in the coming days.

Acknowledging the likelihood of massive crowds in the upcoming rituals, CM Majhi affirmed that the State government is now prepared to manage any number of devotees through meticulous supervision.

Importantly, senior and experienced officials have been entrusted this time with operational responsibilities to guarantee seamless execution of each ritual.

“Every aspect has been discussed in depth with a focus on discipline and completion within defined timelines,” said the CM, signalling a proactive stance toward making the remaining Rath Yatra events both spiritually enriching and efficiently managed.

On Monday, Odisha Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan said the deaths and injuries of devotees during the 9-day annual sojourn (Rath Yatra) in Puri were not caused by any delay in the ‘Pahuda’ ritual of the sibling deities.

The Minister dismissed speculation of any ritual conflict and assured a timely probe into the fatal mishap with clear accountability.
