According to sources, following a detailed inspection, Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb confirmed that Ratna Bhandar of the 12th-century Vaishnavite shrine is completely secure. He remarked that the structure now looks exceptionally beautiful and the restoration has been done strictly in line with traditional temple architectural styles.

The Maharaja emphasised that all renovation work was conducted meticulously, ensuring that the sanctity and original craftsmanship of the structure were preserved. During the inspection, he observed that nearly 600 dilapidated stones were replaced with new ones, contributing to the structural integrity and aesthetic enhancement of the chamber.

Furthermore, Gajapati Maharaja noted that remaining restoration work in other sections is likely to be completed soon before Niladri Bije. Once Lord Jagannath is reinstalled on Ratna Singhasan (jewelled throne of the sibling deities), Ganati-Manati (inventory and verification) process of valuables preserved in the treasure trove will be undertaken.

Puri Gajapati has assured that the State government, in consultation with Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) authorities, will expedite the Ganati-Manati process.

“Let us pray to the Lord that the repair works of His Bhandar would end before Niladri Bije. What we observed, Ratna Bhandar is entirely secure now. It is looking so nice after restoration. All the repair works have been carried out with Sahana stone,” the Gajapati stated.

“Around 600 large stones and several rundown beams were replaced. By the Blessings of the Lord, the historic repair work is nearing completion,” Gajapati Maharaja added.
