The body of a youth was found lying in a pool of blood under Shree Setu in Puri on Wednesday morning.
According to sources, the youth was stoned to death near the Shree Setu Bridge close to the Narendra Kona Bisweswari Temple under the Puri Town Police Station limits.
The deceased, identified as Sudarshan Sahu, hailed from the Khandia Bandha locality in Puri and owned a tiffin stall close to the area where he was found dead.

A frantic search for him was launched by family members after Sahu reportedly did not return home after closing his shop. His body was eventually discovered under the Shree Setu with marks of crushing injuries around the head.
Meanwhile, police seized the body and sent it for post-mortem while initiating an investigation into the matter, and preliminary investigations suspected that some miscreants murdered him late at night.
No further details regarding the motive and cause of the murder have come forward as of yet.

The latest case of murder in the holy town of Puri came after a man was allegedly hacked to death by as many as nine people including seven minor boys and a father-son duo in August of this year.
