PM Modi to visit Odisha on June 20 for BJP’s first anniversary celebrations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Odisha on June 20, confirmed Minister Suresh Pujari on Saturday. This visit is part of a programme marking the one-year anniversary of the BJP government in Odisha. The visit was initially planned for June 12 but has now been rescheduled.

The announcement was made by Pujari, highlighting the significance of the Prime Minister's presence at the event, which is expected to draw considerable attention from both local and national stakeholders.

The event aims to celebrate the achievements of the state government and bolster its relationships with the central government.

“We had requested PM Modi to come on June 12. However, he is occupied with some work and has scheduled to arrive in Odisha on June 20. So, the main anniversary programme that was supposed to be held on June 12 has been postponed to June 20 now,” informed Pujari. 

Earlier, during his four-day tour to New Delhi, CM Mohan Majhi had extended an invitation to PM Modi, HM Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, and other dignitaries to attend the function marking the completion of one year of the BJP government in Odisha. 

Last year, PM Modi had attended the swearing-in ceremony of the Majhi government.

In the last one year, the state government has launched several key initiatives, including the Subhadra Yojana, which provides financial assistance to women, and the Mukhyamantri Kamadhenu Yojana, aimed at boosting the dairy sector. The anniversary event is expected to highlight these programs and outline future plans for the state's development.
