A high-level security review meeting by officials from the Special Protection Group (SPG), Commissionerate Police, and Fire Services Department was held at the office of the Director of the Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar, on Tuesday ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled Odisha visit.
PM Modi is scheduled to visit the state on June 20. He is scheduled to hold a mega roadshow in Bhubaneswar as part of the BJP government’s first-year celebrations in Odisha.
PM Modi’s Odisha Visit Schedule
As per the official schedule, PM Modi is expected to land at the Bhubaneswar airport at 3:40 pm. Following his arrival, he will be given a ceremonial welcome. From 3:45 PM to 4:15 PM, he will hold a roadshow starting from the airport and culminating at the Janata Maidan.
Later, he will attend a mega public event at Janata Maidan till 5:30 PM to mark one year of the BJP government’s current term in Odisha. During the event, PM Modi will also unveil Odisha's ‘Vision Document’.
After the completion of the programme, PM Modi is scheduled to leave for New Delhi at around 5:50 PM in a special flight from Bhubaneswar airport.
Sixth Visit Within One Year
This will be PM Modi’s sixth visit to Odisha within a year. After the preparatory meeting, the senior officials went to the Janata Maidan to take stock of the situation today. Odisha Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena and Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari also visited the spot and reviewed the preparation.
Meanwhile, security arrangements have been tightened across the city.
“A meeting on security arrangements was held in the presence of the SPG team. The team will make a field visit to the airport, the roadshow route, and the meeting venue. As per their suggestion, we will make necessary arrangements,” said Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena.
