Reaffirming its commitment to clean and transparent governance, the Odisha government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, claimed to have intensified efforts to root out corruption and deliver efficient public service.
On the first anniversary of the newly formed BJP government in Odisha, the Chief Minister declared that a new era of “susasan” (good governance) has begun in the state.
“Our fight against corruption has started with full force. We are committed to ensuring that every government programme is free from irregularities and reaches the common man,” the Chief Minister stated in his address.

CM’s Direct Outreach and Administrative Reforms
In a clear departure from the past, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi emphasized the dismantling of long-standing bureaucratic barriers that prevented people from accessing the highest offices.
“Now, there are no restrictions for people to meet the Chief Minister or ministers. I have travelled to 30 districts and interacted directly with citizens,” he said.
CM Majhi added that he has personally stepped out of Bhubaneswar to hear the grievances of the people and take swift action. “It doesn’t take 24 years; if there is a strong will, change can happen in 24 minutes,” the CM remarked, alluding to the sluggish pace of governance in the past.
Targeted Development for Key Segments
The Chief Minister underlined the government's special focus on four vital groups:
-
The poor
-
Farmers (Annadata)
-
Youth
-
Women
“We are tirelessly working for the upliftment of these groups,” he said, calling it the government’s non-negotiable commitment.
Ambitious Public Welfare Targets
Setting ambitious goals for the future, the CM announced:
By 2026, 90% of households in Odisha will have access to piped drinking water, significantly improving public health and living standards.
The Odisha government has committed to providing Antyodaya homes to five lakh poor families, ensuring safe shelter for the most disadvantaged sections of society.
