Amidst the Pahalgam terrorist attack and fear among people, six suspicious individuals were reportedly found roaming around in Odisha’s Paradip, prompting an intense search operation by police teams from five different stations.
According to sources, these suspects were found in possession of identification documents linked to Jammu & Kashmir and Bihar, raising further concerns. The matter came to the fore after an altercation broke out between one of the suspects and a local youth near Paradip’s Sandhakuda Chhak.
What Led To The Suspicion?
Locals became suspicious after the suspects allegedly threatened to shoot a youth over a minor bike collision. This incident immediately aroused suspicion among the local residents who gheraoed them.
However, they failed to give a satisfactory answer, and their body language and behaviour were abnormal, with inconsistencies in their statements.
Angry locals then confronted the group and began questioning them about their identity and purpose in the area. However, before the police team could arrive, the six individuals reportedly split up and fled in different directions, evading capture.
Efforts To Track Suspects
Police sources confirmed that the documents recovered from the group are now under scrutiny to verify their authenticity. Additional SP-level officers are overseeing the investigation, coordinating efforts to track and apprehend the individuals involved.
Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious movement. The motive and background of the suspects remain unclear as the manhunt continues.
