Once again the heat of Health Minister Naba Das murder dominated the proceedings of the Odisha Assembly with Opposition parties, including the BJP and the Congress creating ruckus in the House on Friday. The Assembly Speaker adjourned the proceedings of the House till 4 pm following pandemonium twice in the day.
Soon after the proceedings began today, the Congress members rushed to the well of the House and wanted to know where the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was. The ruckus was created by the Opposition parties when the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Niranjan Pujari was briefing the House regarding the Cabinet decisions.
The Odisha Assembly Speaker initially had adjourned the proceedings till 11:30 am and later till 4 pm due to the ruckus by Opposition members.

“Odisha Government is misleading people in the name of investigation and nobody knows where the probe is heading. The motive behind Naba Das killing is still unclear and who was behind it needs to be probed. We are demanding CM’s resignation and probe by SIT,” said Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati.
Opposition Chief Whip Mohan Majhi said, “41 days have passed since the murder of Odisha Health Minister Naba Das and the hands of the Crime Branch are empty. The investigating agency has failed to unravel the mystery of the conspiracy behind the murder. Nobody knows where the investigation is heading. How can we accept the zero result of CM Naveen Patnaik government even after 23 years of rule?”
Majhi further said that the state government is inefficient and the CM should resign as the sensitive case is yet to be cracked. He said the demand has been reiterated in Assembly before the Speaker today.

Responding to the allegations levelled by the Opposition, BJD MLA Sudhir Samal said, “The way Congress and BJP members stalled the Assembly proceedings instead of raising pertinent questions relating to their constituencies is unfortunate. The people of Odisha will give a befitting reply to them. The state government has already clarified the matter and it is under investigation. It seems that the Opposition parties have lost patience and are trying to mislead people by presenting wrong facts.”
