Odisha youth 'stabs woman to death for opposing advances to daughter'

A woman was allegedly stabbed to death by a youth in Cuttack on Monday. The incident was reported from Debendranagar under CRRI police limits. According to sources, the stabbing was a fallout of a past enmity.

The deceased has been identified as Bharati Sahu while the accused youth is Muna Bhuyan. 

As per reports, Muna used to have one-sided love for the elder daughter of Bharati. Muna was jailed earlier in an attempt to harass the girl. 

The accused was seething with anger to take revenge over the past incident. In the evening, he reached Bharati’s house and stabbed her multiple times, leaving the victim dead. 

On being informed, CRRI police rushed to the spot and started an investigation. The body was seized and sent for post-mortem. Police have launched a manhunt for the accused.
