The frantic search by the family members and relatives of several persons, who are still ‘untraceable’ following the tragic Odisha train accident, continues. From one hospital to another, the family members are running from pillar to post to get information about their loved ones, even if there is no clarity on whether they are dead or alive.
While someone is looking for his/her son, another is searching the whereabouts of her husband. There are numerous tales of trauma being experienced by the family members that cannot be described in words.

“We got the news about the train tragedy on TV. Later, we tried to call our family members, but could not contact them. We have found three members, but couldn’t trace my husband so far,” said a woman from West Bengal.
Another person, who had reached Odisha from Bihar, said, “I found one dead body at Bhubaneswar AIIMS, but could not locate 5 others. I searched the lists in Balasore, Bhadrak and Cuttack. I have visuals of all five on my mobile phone. I have sent one body to Bihar. We hope to locate all the five missing persons soon."
Bihar State disaster management minister Shahnawaz Alam today said, “About 43 people from Bihar died in the incident. While 44 people were injured and 88 people are missing.
” Earlier on Monday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who visited Cuttack, said that both Odisha and West Bengal governments are working together and providing free treatment to the affected people.
“About 103 bodies belonging to West Bengal have been identified and 97 people are under treatment and 31 are missing,” said Banerjee.
