Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Y.B. Khurania on Saturday visited MKCG Medical College and Hospital (MKCG) in Berhampur to meet Special Operations Group (SOG) jawan Premchandra Majhi, who sustained grievous bullet injuries during a recent anti-Maoist operation.

According to reports, Majhi was critically injured after Maoists opened fire on security forces during a combing operation along the Ganjam–Kandhamal border. He was immediately shifted to MKCG Medical College for urgent medical attention, where he is currently undergoing treatment under close supervision of doctors.

During his visit, DGP Khurania personally interacted with the injured jawan and inquired about the treatment being provided. He also discussed the necessary arrangements with hospital authorities and doctors to ensure that Majhi receives the best possible care.

Khurania also assured the family that if advanced treatment was required, the state government would arrange to shift him to another hospital. 

Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena accompanied the DGP during the visit. He too spoke to the doctors and expressed solidarity with the family of the injured jawan.
