Police on Sunday detained a person on charges of killing two youths over a trivial argument at Amarudhi village under K Balang Police limits of Sundargarh district.
The deceased have been identified as Sadhucharan Burweli (24) and Janka Sundhi (45) of Amarudhi village, while the accused is Jura Munda (35) of the same village.
Sadhucharan and Janka suddenly went missing on Saturday night. Their family members launched a frantic search for them but could not trace them. The mystery behind their disappearance came to the fore after Jura surrendered before the police on Sunday. During interrogation, he revealed that he had killed them.

According to police, Sadhucharan and Janka had a confrontation with Jura over a chicken feast. They left the place after a verbal duel with him. However, Jura nurtured a grudge against them. On that night, he hacked the duo to death. To avoid police action, he then dumped the bodies in a village rivulet. On Sunday morning, he surrendered at K Balang Police Station following which the bodies were recovered.
A detailed probe is underway, the police said.
