The farmers of Subdega block in Sundargarh district are hopeful that their problems will soon be addressed as Governor Raghubar Das heard their grievances during his one-day visit to the district on Monday.
Upon reaching Subdega block, the Governor went to Pancha Mahala village. Besides having a brief discussion with the farmers regarding the problems they are facing, he also visited the farmlands. He also enquired about the benefits they are receiving under several yojanas and schemes like KALIA and PM-KISAN.
Later, he visited the farmland of Lochan Gurlia, a farmer who has grown chickpeas.

“I am happy that he (the Governor) visited my farmland. After paddy, I have grown chickpeas. After seeing my crops, he expressed his happiness and enquired about whether my children are going to school or not,” said Lochan Gurlia, a farmer.
“We have submitted proposals for constructing a check dam on a river flowing through our village so that the lands can get irrigation facility. Another proposal was submitted for steps through the Agriculture department and LAMPS to create awareness on the use of organic manure and improvement of soil productivity,” said Sushama, a farmer.
The Governor also visited the Anganwadi centre and the primary school at Bhojpur and interacted with the students. During his discussion with teachers and parents, he asked the students if they were receiving the benefits provided under PM-POSHAN.
