Puri Jagannath Temple Mahaprasad
Amid the raging row over adulteration in laddus at Tirupati temple, Odisha government and Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) have decided to have a regular quality check mechanism at Puri Srimandir, especially for Mahaprasad and ghee.
Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Friday informed that some unwanted things cropped up at Tirupati temple. Hence, the SJTA and Odisha government have decided to ensure that the quality of Mahaprasad, and other ingredients like ghee remain intact.

"All the articles will undergo a quality check before going to the temple’s kitchen and again while Mahaprasad comes out,” said Harichandan. According to the Minister, the health department has been urged to provide food inspectors and soon the appointment will be made. Already, ex-servicemen have been appointed and deployed at Ananda bazaar, he said.
“Food inspectors will be appointed so that the allegations which are coming up at other temples are not reported from Puri Jagannath temple. The government is aware and taking appropriate steps. There is no impurity in Lord Jagannath’s Mahaprasad and it will never happen,” he added.
