In a major crackdown on corruption, the Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday arrested Dayanidhi Bagh, Joint Director of Soil Conservation & Watershed Development, for possession of disproportionate assets (DA) worth several crores.
The arrest follows extensive raids and the recovery of unaccounted wealth, including 84 acres of land, gold, a luxury flat, and large cash deposits.
According to an official release, the Vigilance team unearthed massive assets during searches conducted at multiple locations linked to Bagh.
Among the seized properties were two buildings, a 3-BHK flat, two farmhouses constructed over 48 acres in Nabarangpur, and an additional 36 acres of land, bringing the total to 84 acres.
Officials also recovered 312 grams of gold, bank deposits exceeding Rs 58 lakh, and a benami Brezza car. Vigilance sources said that Bagh failed to account for these assets satisfactorily.
A case has been registered against Bagh under Koraput Vigilance PS Case No. 24/2025, and he has been arrested. He will be produced before the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna today.
The Odisha Vigilance said investigations are ongoing to identify further assets and possible benami holdings.
