In a bid to make governance more people-oriented, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday launched a new initiative called ‘Ama Shasana’ at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

Under the programme, the Chief Minister, Ministers and senior departmental officials will directly call citizens to take feedback on how effectively government services are reaching them. The move is aimed at ensuring accountability and improving delivery of public services across the state.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi formally launched the initiative, describing it as another step towards making governance transparent and citizen-friendly. Government services must reach people without hurdles, and their voices must guide us, he said.

During the launch of the initiative, CM Majhi spoke to several rural housing beneficiaries over the phone and inquire if they are facing any problems in availing benefits of various government welfare schemes.

Apart from phone calls, officials visiting different areas will also collect feedback through a mobile app. Citizens can share their views and complaints through multiple channels, Facebook, X (Twitter), WhatsApp, the state government’s website chatbot, and by calling the toll-free number 14471.

The government hopes that ‘Ama Shasana’ will not only strengthen its connect with the people, but also act as a real-time monitoring system for service delivery.
