In order to address the issues relating to labour migration, the state government has formed a high-level task force that will provide guidance.
Sources said the primary focus of this high-level task force will be to discuss and find solutions to the problem of labour migration. It will also establish action plans to address these issues while recommending necessary steps to be taken by various government organizations.
The task force will operate from the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department in the Lok Seva Bhawan. To review the progress achieved, meetings will be held at least once every six months.

It has been decided that experts, educationists, development specialists, as well as representatives from organisations affiliated with the United Nations who have been actively working in the field of alleviation of migration problems will be invited to the meetings.
Besides investigating the types of migrations prevailing in different regions, it will also suggest specific actions necessary for effective resolution. It will also conduct an in-depth analysis of regional disparities, inclusivity, and the extent of migration and provide recommendations for addressing the issues. Additionally, the ongoing programs and initiatives by various departments aimed at reducing migration will also be discussed.
The task force will recommend specific measures related to skill development, access to loans, the inclusion of families in poverty alleviation programs, provision of housing, and creation of job opportunities through various government departments. It will also propose other steps and initiatives to be taken by the state government for a comprehensive and sustainable resolution to these issues.
For the successful implementation of the proposed steps, subjects like the cooperation of expert organisations, citizen bodies and technical organisations will be discussed.
Furthermore, the task force will ensure the availability of resources for all these initiatives and facilitate necessary coordination with the Government of India and various state governments to address the problems faced by migrant workers promptly.
The high-level task force will work conscientiously towards comprehensive and sustainable solutions to the labour-related displacement issues.
The task force, formed under the chairmanship of the Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment and Energy KV Singh Deo, has Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Minister for Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water, Ministers of other departments, the Chief Secretary, the Development Commissioner, and other departmental secretaries as its members.
