The Odisha government on Friday cleared fresh industrial investments worth Rs 4,739 crore across multiple districts, with the potential to generate more than 25,200 jobs. The decision was taken at the 140th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, IAS.

The meeting approved 25 new projects spanning 13 key sectors, including textiles, steel, chemicals, IT/ITES, infrastructure, logistics, renewable energy, tourism, cold storage, and capital goods.

One of the crucial investments in the state would be about Linde India Limited planning to set up a Global Competency Centre in Khordha, Odisha, with an estimated investment of Rs 82 crore. The development will mark a significant boost to Odisha’s growing IT/ITES and industrial ecosystem and create 210 jobs.

Linde India, a leading player in the industrial gases and engineering sector, operates more than 35 facilities across India and is well known for its Project Engineering Division, which handles the design, installation, and commissioning of advanced plants such as air separation units and nitrogen plants.

The proposed centre in Khordha is being described as a facility focused on transport and remote operations, reflecting the company’s strategy of expanding its digital and technological capabilities.

Odisha has, in recent months, cleared multiple industrial projects worth several thousand crores across diverse sectors, reinforcing its ambition under the Samrudha Odisha 2036 vision.

Observers say that if Linde’s Khordha investment materialises, it would further strengthen the state’s credentials as a hub for both traditional industry and emerging technology-driven operations.
