In a significant reshuffle, the Odisha government on Wednesday issued fresh orders for the transfer and posting of senior IPS officers across the state.

As per the notification issued by the Home Department, Sanjeeb Panda, a 1994-batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the Additional Director General (ADG), Anti-Naxal Operations.

Previously serving as ADG, Training and Director of Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA), Panda will now oversee both the Special Intelligence Wing (SIW) and Anti-Naxal Operations, reporting directly to the DGP of Odisha.

Meanwhile, Anup Kumar Sahoo (RR 2006), IGP, Training, will continue as the Director of BPSPA until further notice.

In another key change, Akhileshwar Singh (RR 2009), DIG of Police, SWR, Koraput, has been transferred and posted as DIG of Police, SIW, Bhubaneswar with immediate effect.

In a corresponding swap, Dr. Kanwar Vishal Singh (RR 2010), who was DIG, SIW, Bhubaneswar, has now been posted as DIG, SWR, Koraput.

These transfers are seen as part of the disha’s larger efforts to strengthen internal security operations and enhance administrative efficiency, especially in regions affected by left-wing extremism.
