The CM hinted at major upcoming projects, including temple revamps, canal improvements, and industrial expansions to further transform the region.

According to sources, the CM, during today’s visit to Kendrapara, reviewed various developmental projects and declared the district as the second best performer in the State under the flagship schemes Subhadra and Lakhpati Didi.

“Kendrapara has occupied the second place in Odisha in implementing Subhadra Yojana. The district has also occupied the second place in creating Lakhpati Didis,” stated the CM, adding that the district will see further support under these women-centric empowerment schemes.

“The State government has taken setting up of a medical college and hospital seriously in to consideration and will focus on this. Kendrapara district will certainly get the rights that it deserves,” the CM further said.

Plans for Baladevjew Temple

A key highlight of the review included plans for Baladevjew Temple. The CM announced that steps would be taken for its full-scale renovation and development, emphasising its cultural and spiritual significance.

Discussions focused on Jambu-Marshaghai canal improvement works, which are vital for irrigation and flood management. The CM indicated that more foundation stones would be laid in his next visit, hinting at a second round of developmental activities.

Other major infrastructure and economic projects, such as the proposed medical college in the region and the development of Arcelor-Mittal industrial facilities, were also reviewed. These projects are expected to generate employment and raise healthcare standards.

The CM’s visit underlined Kendrapara’s growing importance in the State's development roadmap, especially with its proactive participation in flagship welfare schemes and readiness for large-scale infrastructure investments.

The second year of the State government’s term will officially kick off with a focus on development activities in Kendrapara district, the CM announced during his visit. This signals the district’s importance in the administration’s broader growth strategy.

Special emphasis was placed on expanding the Hental (mangrove) forest area in the district and accelerating eco-tourism initiatives. The State government aims to promote sustainable tourism while preserving the local biodiversity, making Kendrapara a model for nature-based development.

Security concerns were also addressed during the review. The CM instructed the police administration to take strict action against illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators in the district, to ensure law and order remains intact.

Before the official meetings, the CM participated in a symbolic tri-colour rally from Mausi Maa Temple to Baladevjew Temple, underlining cultural unity and the State's commitment to tradition alongside progress.
