On the joyous occasion of Holi, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi celebrated the festival of colours with senior police officials, including Odisha DGP YB Khurania and other top officers.
As part of the festivities, the Chief Minister was smeared with colours and was seen offering sweets as part of the celebration. Additionally, he extended his heartfelt greetings to everyone and wished brotherhood and goodwill to bring happiness, peace, and joy into everyone’s lives.
“My warmest greetings to everyone on the occasion of the holy festival of colours, Holi. May this festival of brotherhood and friendship fill everyone's lives with happiness, peace, and joy. I pray to Radha Gobinda for a blessed life for everyone,” read a tweet from the CM’s official X handle.

Extensive safety arrangements for Holi:
Meanwhile, the state has made extensive security and safety arrangements to ensure an incident-free festival. The state police have deployed heavy police forces at various locations, including 22 platoons in Cuttack City.
Along these lines, the Odisha Fire Services Department is ensuring public safety during Holi by deploying special response teams at seven high-risk locations in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, including Bankuala, Kuakhai, and Jobra.

24-hour control room to monitor situations:
Equipped with scuba divers, power boats, and rescue gear, they aim to handle water emergencies and other incidents efficiently. Further, dedicated teams have been stationed in blocks and district headquarters, supported by a 24-hour control room with 400+ personnel for quick responses.
In further preparations, the state police have also issued warnings against drunk reveling and rash driving. Further, restrictions and advisories have also been issued to maintain the law and order situation during Holi festivities.
