The Odisha government has decided to construct a second bridge over river Bramhani at Patrapur on Cuttack - Chandabali Road, parallel to existing bridge. The proposal of the Water Resources Department was approved by the Odisha Cabinet.
The second bridge project will reportedly ease the traffic congestion on SH 9A that connects Kendrapara to Bhadrak.
As this bridge project gives direct connectivity to Dangamala and Bhitarakanika National Park, it is also expected to accommodate growing traffic for tourist destination.

The State Cabinet has approved the final negotiated offer of lowest Turnkey bidder M/s Ram Kumar Contractor Pvt Ltd amounting to Rs 228,99,00,000 for execution of the project work which is targeted to be completed within a period of 36 calendar months.
Apart from this, the Odisha Cabinet has also approved the construction of second bridge over Chandabali Road over river Kharasrota at Bharigada on Cuttack Kharasrota parallel to existing bridge connecting from Aul to Chandbali. It will reportedly ease the traffic congestion on SH 9A that connects Kendrapara to Bhadrak.

The Odisha government has also decided for construction of H.L. Bridge over Mahanadi at Pujaripalli Ghat connecting to Jarimuli. The proposed new bridge over Mahanadi will provide interlink connection between old NH-200 (now NH-49) (Chhattisgarh - Jharsuguda Deogarh - Talcher - Kamakhyanagar - Duburi - Chandhikhol) on Jharsuguda side to Dunguri on Bargarh district side.
This will be an important route for inter district communication for Bargarh and Jharsuguda district.
