In a proud moment for every Odia, the trailer of filmmaker Jitendra Mishra’s documentary ‘Y64’ was screened at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday.
Y64, which means 64 Yogini, presents the significance of Bolangir’s Ranipur Jharial and Bhubaneswar’s 64 Yogini temple. The story plot of ‘Y64’ focuses on the significance, establishment, and history of 64 Yogini.

At the 10-day festival, which began on May 16th and will go on till May 27, Odia filmmaker Mishra was seen walking on the Red Carpet donning Sambalpuri handloom.
Apart from presenting his filmmaking skills to the world, Mishra also promoted the civilisation and culture of Odisha at the International event.
Mishra, who hails from Bolangir’s Titlagarh, began his career as a producer and director of children's films. Mishra shot to fame after working in the National Award-winning movie 'I Am Kalam'.
“At the Cannes Film Festival, the trailers and posters of two films, directly related to Odisha, were launched at the Government of India’s pavilion. We have made an effort to promote our language, art, culture, and cinema here," said Mishra.

Meanwhile, his elder brother, Umakanta Mishra said, “Since his childhood, he had a passion for art and always remained attracted toward it. He used to act in different plays and used to wait for any such opportunities.”
