In a shocking development, senior Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officer and the DGM of OSDMA, Sarthak Saurabh Mohapatra, has been accused by his wife, Archana Dash, of severe neglect and emotional cruelty.
The accused has allegedly failed to show basic humanity during her hospitalisation for childbirth and mistreated their child, she said to OTV on Thursday.

“A woman may be good or bad to her husband, but what can be the mistake of a newborn? How can a father be so inhuman to his child?” the woman questioned when contacted.
“How can a responsible officer bear no moral obligation?” the woman remarked.
The OAS officer has landed in controversy after his wife, Archana, lodged serious allegations of domestic neglect and emotional abuse.
According to Archana, while she was hospitalised, her husband showed no concern for her or their child, raising questions about his sense of responsibility as a father.
Archana claimed that despite informing him about their child’s health, she received no response. She questioned whether her husband bore any sense of duty towards their child. Even during her and the child’s illness, she says, he insisted the child belonged to him—yet he made no inquiries or efforts.
“My husband (Sarthak) has no humanity. He has never enquired condition in which I was in the hospital. Even, he had not gotten me discharged from the hospital. I was unable to walk following the childbirth as I had undergone a caesarian operation,” the woman stated.
“When I met my husband once at Gulf Club after 54 days (of childbirth), he had told me, ‘I do not want to see my child, because I will get emotional. I am a father figure for my sister (Archana’s sister-in-law). So long as she has not completed her preparations and she is not settled, I cannot divert my mind elsewhere,” Archana said, quoting her husband.
Attempts were reportedly made to contact Sarthak through his office staff, friends, and relatives, but Archana stated that there was still no communication from him.
Additionally, she has accused Sarthak’s family—particularly his mother-in-law and sister-in-law—of harassment. A formal complaint regarding domestic abuse has been filed, naming Sarthak as well as his mother and sister.
When approached for comment, the OAS officer declined to offer any detailed response, describing the situation as a “personal family dispute.” Sarthak said any further statements would be made only to the police.
