No DJ music, liquor, plastics in Dussehra celebrations in Bhubaneswar

This Dussehra in Bhubaneswar is going to be DJ music, alcohol and plastic-free. 

 A decision to make Dussehra free from DJ music, alcohol and plastic was taken at a meeting held on Tuesday in Bhubaneswar. The meeting was attended by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Sulochana Das, local MLAs, Police Commissioner and office bearers and members of puja committees. 

As per the decision taken, no DJ music will be played at pandals and immersion processions.

The Commissionerate Police will also take special steps to ensure that this Durga Puja is liquor-free. As a part of its drive, the police will distribute pamphlets carrying a pledge to make pandals liquor-free. 

Similarly, at the time of ‘pushpanjali’, the police will administer oaths to the committee members and devotees present to abstain from liquor. 

At the same time, the Commissionerate Police is going to be strict on those who will collect donations in the name of Chanda.
