As New Year 2025 begins, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is bracing itself for a series of challenges in Odisha. State BJP president Manmohan Samal has laid out the party's ambitions and challenges for the upcoming year.

Striving for Odisha's Leadership

At the core of BJP's agenda is the aspiration to transform Odisha into a leading state. This involves the effective execution of the party's detailed policy framework, often referred to as the vision document.

Strengthening Political Synergy

Samal underscored the crucial need for close collaboration between the party’s organisation and the state government, describing it as pivotal for Odisha's progress. He also stressed the necessity of effectively communicating the advantages of a 'double-engine government'—a scenario where the same party governs both at the state and central levels—to the Odisha populace.

In an exclusive interview, Samal elaborated on these points, highlighting the BJP's commitment to realising these goals.

The New Year 2025, undoubtedly, brings a demanding yet potentially rewarding phase for the BJP as it aims to further its objectives in Odisha, fostering development and political cohesion.

“I extend my wishes to the people on the English New Year. Odisha is a land of opportunity and BJP workers are working hard to fulfil the aspirations of people who voted for the party. The vision of PM Narendra Modi is to develop Odisha; and, the state will play a crucial in the Vikshit Bharat vision,” said Samal.

According to Samal, the new BJP government in Odisha has a lot of challenges to face in 2025, including making the state a developed one.

“The party had earlier issued a Sankalp Patra and will take every step to fulfil all the promises made in the next 5 years. Already the government has rolled out the Subhadra Yojana and made provision in the budget for other welfare schemes. The party does what it says. In 2025, a lot of development works will be undertaken,” assured the state BJP chief.

The state BJP president also stated that strengthening the party’s organisation is a continuous process and it will continue. The people of the state have blessed the BJP to come to power. Hence, responsibility will be given to leaders and others to connect and bring new people into the party fold, said Samal.

“We can be in power for a long time by fulfilling the promises made to the people. In 2025, there will be panchayat elections and there will be one-sided voting in favour of BJP. Youths will be given adequate prominence in the upcoming polls. As there is now a double-engine government in Odisha, every work is being taken up on a priority basis and there is close coordination between the organisation and the government,” the BJP president added.
