In a significant move to boost Odisha’s digital infrastructure and IT ecosystem, the state government has announced the development of a large-scale IT park in the Twin City of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. The announcement was made by Odisha’s Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, who detailed a series of ambitious infrastructure projects set to transform the state's urban and rural connectivity landscape over the next five years.
A Vision for Digital Odisha: New IT Park Across 1,000 Hectares
According to the Minister, the upcoming IT park will be developed over 1,000 hectares of land, marking it as one of the largest IT infrastructure initiatives ever undertaken in Odisha. The project aims to position Odisha as a competitive destination in India’s fast-growing digital economy.
A key feature of the park will be a "Plug and Play" built-up area, designed to facilitate quick operational readiness for IT companies. These ready-to-use facilities will eliminate setup delays and are expected to attract both national and international tech firms looking for expansion.
In Bhubaneswar alone, the built-up space will span approximately 10 lakh square meters, offering modern office infrastructure for startups, mid-size firms, and tech giants alike. This initiative is in line with the government’s broader objective to create employment and turn the Twin City into a major IT hub in Eastern India.
