Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced the establishment of a medical college in Jagatsinghpur, addressing a long-standing demand of the district's residents. The announcement was made during discussions on the budget approval bill in the State Assembly this week.

In addition to the medical college, the government had previously promised the development of an airstrip in Jagatsinghpur, further enhancing infrastructure in the region.

State Industries Minister Samapad Swain expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Health Minister for their dedicated efforts toward making this project a reality. He highlighted the significance of the announcement, emphasizing that the residents of Jagatsinghpur had been advocating for a medical college for years.

Boost to Regional Healthcare and Infrastructure

Swain remarked, “The Chief Minister has green-lit the development of a medical college in the Jagatsinghpur district. Coupled with the state’s earlier plans for an airport at the district, this is a major boost to infrastructure in the region for which I am very grateful to the CM.”
