A man sustained injuries after he was allegedly attacked by two miscreants with a sword at Diamond Tank Road in Berhampur on Saturday evening.
The two bike-borne miscreants attacked the man while he was talking over the phone near a school. The victim has been identified as Shankar Maharana of Lakshmivihar area under Bada Bazar Police limits.
As per CCTV footage, Shankar Maharana was standing near a private school when he was attacked. Later he could be seen fleeing from the spot in an attempt to save himself. The incident has raised questions on the security measures as nobody dared to stop the miscreant who was seen chasing the victim after landing a lethal blow.
Recently, a gold jewellery businessman and his wife were attacked by a thief during a burglary attempt. Such crime incidents have now become an area of concern for the residents of Berhampur.
Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation to identify the miscreants and the motive behind the attack.
