With the deadline of farmer registration for this ambitious scheme nearing its end, the State government is considering another extension of the timeline.

The CM informed that a decision on extending the registration window will be announced soon. Earlier, Deputy CM and Agriculture Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo had proposed an additional week for registration, which has now been accepted, the CM confirmed.

In the current cycle, the deadline had already been extended once, from August 20 to August 25. Now, farmers who have not yet registered may get another chance.

The Krushak Samruddhi Yojana is aimed at improving farmers' welfare and ensuring broader inclusion in government schemes. The government is keen to ensure that no eligible farmer is left out, official sources said.

The new extension, once finalised, is expected to be declared in the next few days.

“Some of the farmers have faced minor problems in registering their names. Keeping that in mind, the period of registration was earlier extended. Again today, our Deputy CM Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo has proposed to further extend the deadline,” the CM said.

“I am taking his proposal into consideration,” the CM expressed.

“The farmers of our State are small and marginal farmers, and their number is around 82 percent. Apart from this, another significant faction of farmers exists in the State, they are called landless farmers or sharecroppers,” the CM stated.

“We have also added the names of such landless farmers to the list to provide them with financial assistance under CM Kisan Yojana,” the CM added.

Notably, Chief Minister Majhi attended a state-level meeting of farmers in OUAT today.
