Earlier in the day, KIIT authorities allegedly declared a temporary ‘sine die’ and compelled the students to vacate the premises, following incidents of unrest. Reports suggest that the students were escorted to Cuttack railway station via the university's transport.

Notably, the international students from Nepal experienced prolonged waiting times at the station. The students resorted to travelling on Puri-Patna Express in general compartment, unable to secure reservation tickets, thereby using general tickets instead.
