Khordha fire mishap
Villagers of Kaimatia village under Jatni block in Khordha district are grappling with the aftermath of a fierce fire that destroyed as many as five houses, leaving the families without shelter.
As per reports, the affected residents are now residing with neighbours as they piece their lives back together.
Local administration has reportedly responded by providing temporary shelter materials like polythene sheet. However, villagers are appealing for prompt action to include these families in government housing schemes, stressing the need for swift provision of permanent accommodation.
Government Initiatives Underway
The Block Development Officer of Jatni Rashmita Nath has announced that steps are being taken to allocate houses to those impacted under the Antyodaya Gruha Jojana.
Origin of Fire
As per sources, the fire originated at the house of Dhinabandhu Bhoi in Kaimatia village and in the process engulfed as many as five houses.
The mishap caused immense loss as valuables, including cash, gold jewellery, and other household items. Even crucial documents like land deeds were incinerated, placing the families in a precarious situation.

"All our household items have been engulfed in the massive fire. We are now completely helpless. Where will we live now? We request the government for help," said a victim.
"We are trying to provide houses to the victims under Antyodaya Gruha Jojana soon," said Jatni BDO Rashmita Nath.
