According to Ashutosh, the incident took place when he had gone to the hospital to show the medical reports of his mother. As he stood in line at the ticket counter, he noticed a police officer bypassing the queue. When he objected, the officer allegedly hurled abuses, beat him, and even tore his shirt in full public view.
Accusations galore against on-duty cops
“I was only trying to do the right thing,” said Ashutosh. “But instead of being heard, I was beaten and humiliated. The officer even snatched away my mother’s medical documents, which have not yet been returned,” the victim alleged.
Ashutosh further stated that he lodged a formal complaint against the police officer, but no action has been taken yet.
The incident raises serious concerns about police conduct and accountability, especially in public institutions like hospitals where citizens expect safety and dignity.
“I am a high blood pressure and diabetes patient. I have been running to the hospital for the last one week. I had to show my test reports to the doctors and get their consultations. However, some on-duty policemen have severely beaten my son and snatched away the test reports from him. I am unable to take my medicines,” Ashutosh’s mother said to OTV.
