Kashmiri fraudster and terror suspect, Sayed Ishaan Bukhari was sent to jail after his five-day remand with the Special Task Force (STF) of the Odisha Crime Branch ended on Saturday.
As per reports, the STF officials produced Bukhari in the court in the JMFC court Chandikhole which sent him to judicial custody.
Government counsel Prakash Das said that the court had granted a five-day remand to the STF from December 19 to December 24 for custodial interrogation. The STF produced him in the court at 5 pm on Saturday, he added.
During the five-day custodial interrogation, the STF is said to have gathered vital information about Bukhari and his activities. Sources said the STF came to know that Bukhari had exploited over a hundred girls through an app by doing nude video calls. From each nude video call, he is said to have extracted Rs 5,000 and has collected huge amounts of money.
The STF has reportedly found evidence about the ‘terror suspect’s link with fundamentalists in Kerala while vital information about his activities has been accessed from his call details records. Bukhari had chatted with several people on WhatsApp while some deleted voice messages have been retrieved by the investigating agency, which came to know that Bukhari failed in Class 12 and was able to communicate in six languages.

The investigation also found Bukhari's financial transactions in nine bank accounts. It is also said that the STF may also take Bukhari on remand again if the need arises.
On the other hand, the officials of the Central Intelligence Bureau have quizzed Bukhari, while Kashmiri Police may arrive at Bhubaneswar on Sunday to take the fraudster on remand.
