Some individuals refuse to be defined by their circumstances; instead, they take control of their destiny, shaping it through relentless dedication, persistence, and hard work. One such inspiring story is that of Sankarshan Mandal, son of daily labourers Manik Mandal and Devaki Mandal, who battled all odds to crack the NEET exam. While this achievement should have been cause for celebration, it has brought forth a daunting challenge for the family as financial constraints now threaten to derail his dreams.

Sankarshan was born into an underprivileged family in the remote Tumudibandha village in Kandhamal district. Growing up with limited educational opportunities, Sankarshan attended Chakapada Adarsha Vidyalaya for his schooling. He prepared diligently for NEET with limited resources, relying heavily on the internet to crack the all-India exam on his second attempt.

But his hopes are shattered as his parents' meagre earnings are barely sufficient for daily sustenance, making funding his medical education seem impossible. Sankarshan's parents swell with pride at their son's accomplishment, yet they are burdened with worry about how to finance his future education and career.

"We are worried about his studies. If the government provides some financial aid, it will be helpful," said Sankarshan’s mother, Devaki Mandal.

"It is a blessing of God that he is good at studies. If the government provides some kind of help through a scheme to us, it will be helpful," said a disheartened Manik Mandal, Sankarshan's father.

Sankarshan's neighbours and well-wishers, like Hemanta Mondal, hope that the administration or private institutions will step in to support the talented young man.

"We're hoping that either the government or private organizations will step in to support Sankarshan, ensuring that his golden future doesn't get cut short due to lack of money," says Hemanta Mondal, a neighbour of Sankarshan.
