The East Coast Railway (ECoR) in Bhubaneswar issued helpline numbers on Sunday following the derailment of SMVT Bengaluru-Kamakhya AC Superfast Express (Train No.-12551) near Nergundi Junction in Choudwar locality of Odisha’s Cuttack.

According to the ECoR sources, those in Cuttack can seek assistance by calling 8991124238 or the additional mobile number 7205149591. Meanwhile, in Bhubaneswar, a help desk has been opened at Platform No. 1, and individuals can reach it by dialing 8114382371. Similarly, passengers at Khordha Road can use the helpline number 0674-2492245, and for those in Bhadrak, assistance is available at 9437443469.

A senior railway official confirmed that special train services have been organised to ensure that passengers reach their destinations following the incident. The routes for three trains—Dhauli, Neelachal, and Purulia Superfast—have been adjusted to accommodate smoother travel arrangements.

As per the latest updates, there has been one fatality and seven injuries. Four of the injured were rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH) in Cuttack, where they are receiving medical attention.

A passenger died and seven others sustained grievous injuries in the fatal mishap. However, railway authorities are yet to confirm the fatality and injuries.

The General Manager of ECoR, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Khordha Road, and several other senior officials rushed to the spot for necessary assistance. An accident relief and a medical relief trains each have also been sent to the accident site.
