A human skeleton was discovered behind the boundary wall of Dhalapathar High School in Kalapathar village, under Baideswar police limits of Odisha’s Cuttack district, triggering panic among locals.
The skeleton was found lying near the roots of a large banyan tree, located just outside the school premises.
According to sources, the skeletal remains were packed in a paper packet and dumped behind the school wall. Over time, due to heavy rainfall in recent days, the packet got torn apart, revealing the skull and bones.
Shockingly, the bones and skull were tied together with a plastic string, raising suspicion and fear among residents.
Locals, who noticed the remains, immediately informed Baideswar police. A police team reached the spot and seized the skeleton for further investigation.
Officials stated that the remains will be sent for forensic examination to determine whether they belonged to a human body used for anatomical studies or if foul play is involved.
As of now, the identity and source of the skeleton remain unknown. Police are also inquiring with the school authorities to verify if it was part of any educational setup.
The discovery has sparked tension and curiosity in the area, with locals demanding a thorough probe into the incident.
