Strict Action Against Drunken Misconduct
The DCP has issued a stern warning against consuming alcohol during Holi.
“If anyone is found playing Holi under the influence of alcohol, strict action will be taken against him/her,” he stated.
Additionally, all liquor shops in the city will remain closed during the festival, and any illegal sale of alcohol will lead to immediate legal action.
Guidelines for a Safe and Disciplined Celebration
To ensure smooth festivities, the Cuttack DCP has advised citizens to conclude Holi celebrations between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM. This step is aimed at preventing late-hour disturbances and ensuring public safety.
Moreover, people have been strongly discouraged from bathing in rivers after playing Holi, citing safety hazards.
Enhanced Surveillance and Crowd Management
With extensive police deployment and strict regulations in place, the authorities are leaving no stone unturned to maintain law and order. Surveillance teams will be actively monitoring sensitive areas to prevent unruly behaviour.
The Cuttack Police Department has also urged all citizens to celebrate Holi responsibly, to ensure that the festival remains joyous and incident-free.
