In a shocking incident, two hockey coaches, along with another individual, have been accused of gang-raping a minor girl who came to Jajpur for hockey training.
The incident allegedly took place on July 3. A complaint in connection with the incident has been lodged at Jajpur Town Police Station.
After recording the victim's statement in court, the police detained as many as four persons, including the two accused coaches.
As per sources, the mother of the victim disclosed that despite informing about the incident to the sports authorities umpteen times, no action was taken, prompting her to approach the police.

As per the allegation, two hockey coaches and one of their associates kidnapped the girl and gang-raped her at a lodge. Though the mother of the victim informed about the incident to the sports authorities, no action was taken despite assurances. She raised the matter again before the Jajpur sports authorities on July 17. The authorities again assured him to take up the matter in the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC). However, no action was taken.
Subsequently, the mother of the victim was forced to lodge a complaint at the Jajpur Town Police Station. After registering a case, police have started an investigation into the incident. However, no reactions about the incident could be obtained from the police.
The incident is a stark reminder of the pressing need for vigilant oversight in youth sports environments and the importance of prompt responses from sports authorities.
