An incident of ragging was reported from a private law university in Bhubaneswar after a complaint was filed by a girl student of LLB (first year) against three senior students at Bharatpur Police Station on Wednesday.
In the complaint, the girl student from Singhbhum of Jharkhand alleged that three of her seniors beat her in the hostel. Due to the assault, she suffered internal injuries in her hand, chin, and teeth, the complainant said.
After the ragging, the victim reportedly took up the issue with the disciplinary committee of the institution on February 20. But the accused students did not turn up for the hearing of the committee, the victim alleged.
Subsequently, the victim student and her family lodged a complaint against the three students at the Bharatpur Police Station.
In her complaint, the victim said, "I was constantly beaten and tortured from 14th to 16th February from 2.30 am till 5 am.”

She stated that she visited a doctor and the medical report pointed out a soft tissue rupture on the left shoulder, a punctured chin, and injured teeth. She also alleged that the accused students charged her with practicing black magic.
She also pointed out that she has lost six months of studies while her last-term examination is underway.
No reaction from varsity authorities & police was received.
